The app-led private tour that’s an alternative to group tours by parent company Lip Smacking Foodie Tours, guides you to three acclaimed restaurants in Chinatown for a reserved dine-around.īut if you love a good wander on your own, there’s no better place than Spring Mountain and its surrounds. One way to dive in if you don’t have a lot of time to research is to sign up for a tour with Finger Licking Foodie Tours. With so many restaurants in so few blocks (and think two-floor strip malls packed to the gills with incredible places to try-and late-night foot spas for post-dinner relaxation), the restaurant scene can be intimidating. In the more than 150 restaurants-four dozen of which are open 24 hours a day-you’ll find Korean barbecue, strip malls packed with pho places, old-school tiki bars, Thai, some of the best sushi in the United States, fusion of all kinds, and Chinese cuisine representing Yunnan, Dongbei, Szechuan, Hunan, and many more. I have been eating Dim Sum regularly for about 30 years in NY/NJ Metro Area, Boston, Florida and even the UK Chinatown and this place is clearly one of the best. The 3-mile stretch of Spring Mountain Road that lies just west of the Las Vegas Strip may represent more regional Chinese cuisines than the famous culinary neighborhood that is Chinatown in Flushing, Queens, but calling this neighborhood Chinatown is a bit of a misnomer. I have tried most if not all the name Dim Sum places in Las Vegas, near and far from the strip, and it's easy for me to say this is the best. Not one dish disappointed and we had several more. The shrimp rolls with soy sauce were cut into single shrimp pieces, each cut piece contained one large shrimp and also looked better than what you would find in most other spots. Also had their fried soy sauce noodles which again were delicious because they were made fresh for the table not made a half hour before with a bunch of other orders. Eating it brought me back to lobster stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat, almost. Usually, it's just shrimp paste fried with a coating wrapped around a sugar cane stick and this followed that form, but today it was ultra tender because they actually put whole minus the head shrimp inside with the paste, and being cooked fresh it was ultra tender, moist and tasty. Next, we tried a bunch of dishes such as the shrimp ball on sugar cane stick, which were amazing, the best I ever had for that, and believe me, I have had it all over. I enjoyed the experience and the meat was tender and tasty with that delicious salty jus sauce. Today I started out with roast duck which came out with glistening skin bathed in that duck jus sauce along with a cup of duck sauce. Unlike other Dim Sum places, you order off a menu rather than picking from carts that pass by, This is probably less traditional but it makes for great hot fresh Dim Sum made to order every time. I had Dim Sum today at Rainbow Kitchen, I really love this spot for its fresh Dim Sum. Food is better elsewhere, go to Win Kee HK you'll get better food and service. There was no effort to expedite my order. Sure, some of these comments are here for venting but I am as objective as they come. The other dim sum were just okay, I gave mine order away and ate something else for lunch. I've been to lots of dim sum places and cannot believe at how they're ripping off people here with the size of the dim sum. But what's ashamed of this place is their buns were incredibly small. Xiao Long Dumplings 4275 Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 891 02 Tel: (725) 204-6916. An hour and 15 minutes later, I finally got my order. Xiao Long Dumplings, located on the center of Chinatown, Las Vegas, represents the best a Chinatown can offer. Keep in mind, I was the first person and there were already customers who had left while eating at the table. So at 12pm when my friend's table is almost done with their meals, my order is still not ready. Yum Cha, meaning to ‘drink tea’ also offers a selection of Chinese teas like Jasmine or Oolong. I inquired about my order 45 minutes later. This newcomer Chinese restaurant is already making a name for itself with its dim sum, available seven days a week. Ordered with the gentleman with the suit who opened the store. Ordered some usual dim sum favorites such as: Steamed Chicken and Ginger bun Turnip Cake Tripe 3 orders of Siu Mai Crispy roasted pork with Rice Baked BBQ bun Baked coconut bun Egg custard Deep fried Taro dumplings Steamed rice rolls with shrimp My order was $100 or so. Since I was short on time, I made sure I came here prior to opening. I had met up with another friend here but due to limited time, I came here and ordered to go. This review is for my experience back in summer 2022.
